How to watch the 2026 eclipse safely
The Sun can injure your eyes without pain. During every partial phase, look only through a compliant solar viewer or use an indirect projection method.

When can glasses come off?
Only observers inside the path of totality may remove eye protection, and only while the Sun’s bright face is completely covered. Put protection back on as soon as the Sun reappears.
Accuracy near the path edge
The path follows NASA GSFC predictions. The lunar limb can shift the totality limit by roughly 1–3 km and alter contact times by a few seconds. Do not observe directly on the boundary.
